The Marketing vs. The Policy

Every major AI provider publishes privacy marketing that sounds reassuring. "We take your privacy seriously." "Your data is encrypted." "We care about security." None of this is a data policy. These are values statements. The actual data policy is in the terms of service and privacy policy documents — the dense, legal text that most users have never read and have no intention of reading.

This is the gap: marketing creates an impression of how your data is handled, and the actual policy determines what actually happens. The two are often different enough that it matters. Your first job is to look past the marketing and find out what the actual policy says.
