The Temper Standard is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Use it, fork it, put it in your own procurement pack, sell services around it — all we ask is attribution. Adoption is the point. Our edge is not the wording of the questions; it is verifying the answers and keeping them current as the rules change.

Found a question that is wrong, missing or badly worded? That is the most useful thing you can send us — m@temper.ai. v10.0.18 will be built from real questionnaire-mapping experience and from what people tell us is broken here.

Why publish this for free

Because the questionnaire is the problem. A vendor answers the same questions differently for every buyer, slowly and from memory; a buyer receives answers they have no way to evaluate and no way to re-check six months later. Both sides lose, and the governance industry sells artifacts about that problem rather than removing it.

A shared question set only works if nobody has to pay to use it. So this is free and openly licensed. What we sell is the other half: verifying the answers against evidence, publishing them as a trust profile, and keeping them true as the law moves — which our regulatory tracker exists to watch.

Informational only — not legal advice. Mappings point to framework clauses; answering a question does not by itself satisfy the clause it maps to.
