Alerting Tiers
Not every workflow deserves the same level of attention. Create a tier system:
Tier 1 (Silent)
Low-stakes workflows that fail occasionally and you'll notice anyway. Your "fetch a random motivational quote" workflow. If it doesn't run, the world doesn't end.
No alerting. Just let it run.
Tier 2 (Log-Only)
Write failures to a shared log (Google Sheet, database, Slack channel) but don't interrupt you immediately.
Your "send social media reminders" workflow. You want to know it failed, but you don't need an email in the middle of your day.
Tier 3 (Notify Immediately)
Critical workflows where failure has real consequences. Your Morning Brief, your Inbox Triage, anything that produces data other workflows depend on.
Set up immediate email or Slack notifications. You'll be interrupted, but you need to know.
